In Terrebonne, Pointe-aux-Trembles, Repentigny, and the surrounding cities, LP PLANCHER specializes in floor varnishing for hardwood and engineered wood floors in residential, commercial, and institutional settings.
We perform sanding and smoothing of the surface to restore the raw wood, then apply a water-based floor varnish (available in matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss finishes) or an oil-based varnish with a gloss finish. We can also apply floor varnish to your wooden stairs, stair railings, and balusters.
When staining the floor prior to varnishing, we use Totenic semi-transparent oil-based stain by Pratt & Lambert. This stain is available in a multitude of customizable colors. We then wait between 24 and 48 hours before applying the protective water-based varnish.
Types of Floor Varnishes Used
We can use two types of varnishes, depending on your preference:
- Water-based ecological varnishes Vermeister Idro 2k or Aqua Tenax: These varnishes are among the most efficient and eco-friendly on the market, containing very low levels of VOCs. They emit no odor and hold the EC1 certification, attesting to their low greenhouse gas emissions. Several finishes are available (matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss). These varnishes are non-yellowing and resistant to abrasion and scuffing. They are ideal for high-traffic areas (residential living rooms, shops, restaurants, etc.).
- Oil-based ultra-gloss finish varnish MC Crystal: This highly durable varnish gives the impression that the wood is covered with a shiny plastic layer. This solvent-based hygroscopic varnish provides a glossy and resistant finish. It is used in combination with a sealer (sanding lacquer). The work duration is 2 days. We apply one coat of sealer and two coats of varnish. During drying, there should be no drafts.
